The Robot Film Festival is an annual celebration of robots on screen and in performance.

RFF2017

The 7th Annual Robot Film Festival was held in Los Angeles, CA on December 30, 2017.

The year's theme was BEAUTIFUL ROBOTS: Exploring the Aesthetics and Emotions of Everyday Robots.

Held at the Hive Gallery in Downtown LA in partnership with the 'Robots & Unicorns' art show, this year's curated and accepted films celebrated robots beautiful on the inside and out. From robot forms to robot emotional impact, these real and fictional robots can lead us into a more beautiful shared future. As always, we encouraged submissions to explore positive storytelling about robots that can positively influence our human-machine futures.

  • 6-10pm, Hive Gallery, Downtown LA

This was a New Year's Eve-Eve celebration for robot admirers and robot companions. Kicking off with our bots & booze reception, we screened short films, showcased robot art, and featured live robot performers!  The night closed with the awarding of the annual BOTSKER Awards. Award categories included Best Picture, Best Robot Director, and Best Human-As-Robot-Actor.

Co-hosted by roboticist Heather Knight and chess-boxer Andrew McGregor, the night was full of gallivanting robot comedians and technology-based art.
